Sorry I didn’t get this post up sooner. The Akron/Canton Emergent cohort will be meeting this Friday, August 28, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. As we did last month, we’ll be meeting at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Akron. The address is 1250 W Exchange St, Akron, OH 44313-7695. Childcare may be available again for those with kids, but please let me know ASAP if you’re in need of those arrangements. We’ll meet again at 6:30 for a meal (please bring a dish to share) and then begin our conversation (and possibly childcare) at 7:00 p.m. You can enter the building through the doors adjacent to the wheelchair ramp on the back side of the building. Please email me at robfredbuck@gmail.com to let me know you’re coming and if you can bring anything to contribute to the meal so that we can make sure we have enough food, etc. As for our topic, there are several possibilities. We could:
- Discuss something timely like the theological implications of the healthcare debate or whether or not God really sends tornadoes to smite gay-loving Lutherans.
- Watch another Nooma video and let that be a starting point for our conversation.
- Talk about something else- do you have any ideas? If so, please email me to let me know!

Hey there. I hope that everything is going well. I just wanted to drop a note in here and say that I enjoyed the conversations and stories that we shared last week.
Robert mentioned about using this space for discussion, feedback or further dialogue, so I decided to make the first comment and see if anyone follows.

Thanks for taking the initiative to post something. I really hope we can do that with this site, and for starters, I’d love to hear what you’re thinking about since our meeting! I know you really set a great example for all of us in how you “practice resurrection” daily through your commitment to loving and serving your neighbor in a variety of ways. So, please share what you’re up to. In the meantime, I know Bob has been blogging a bit about some of our discussion at the last cohort meeting, and you can find those posts at http://vanguardchurch.blogspot.com.
